Last night’s walk about the Marywood campus was sweetened by the discovery that the reflecting pool was glassy-still. So I captured some night images of the lit-up Learning Commons—especially reflected ones. Enjoy! Images taken with and edited on iPhone XS.

Looking down the building from outside the north glazed end (figure 1).

A night version of a view I’ve captured more than once (figure 2).

The Learning Commons captured in the glassy reflecting pool (figure 3).

Figure 4. Learning Commons: night view of façade, black and white. Marywood University, Scranton, PA. Photo: author.

Always worth rendering such an image in black and white (figure 4).

Figure 5. Learning Commons: Black Lives Matter. Marywood University, Scranton, PA. Photo: author.

The Learning Commons overlook reminds us that Black Lives Matter (figure 5).

Figure 6. Learning Commons: night view of façade, middle-distance. Marywood University, Scranton, PA. Photo: author.

Getting closer to the building (figure 6).

Figure 7. Learning Commons: night view of façade, magnified. Marywood University, Scranton, PA. Photo: author.

Getting about as close as one can before the high ISO setting starts getting seriously in the way (figure 7). You can also start to see small ripples in the water at this magnification.
