Montage is a ski resort just south of Scranton. It also houses a reasonably decent theater and we went up to see Dune today. A longer-term satisfaction was to encounter some far more exciting autumn color than I’ve yet seen this season. Last night’s low-40s temperatures had a good effect. I photographed one particularly striking tree near the resort parking lot.

Figure 1. Montage autumn color. Photo: author.

Figure 1, at 67 mm, has been cropped to include the brightest colors. I enhanced the yellows and oranges, and desaturated the reds a bit. The sky was a dull overcast grey, but the lighting on the leaves was accordingly good.

Nikon Z 7ii, Nikkor Z 24-200 mm f/4-6.3.
67 mm, f/8, ISO 200, 1/250 s.

Cleaned up with DxO, edited with Luminar AI. Most of the magic happened in the mystical palette.
